Philanthropy
Kappa's philanthropic activities are divided into three main sections. First, we support our Kappa sisters; second, we participate in local service projects; and third, we strive to serve the greater good.

First, we support our sisters across the nation through the Kappa Kappa Gamma Foundation. By way of the Rose McGill Fund, established in 1922, confidential aid is provided to Kappa sisters of all ages who unexpectedly find themselves in financial need due to misfortune or illness. The Rose McGill Fund has three main divisions:
- Confidential Aid: provides financial assistance to alumna members with serious financial need
- Circle Key Grant: provides assistance to alumnae members who wish to pursue part-time educational programs related to career opportunities
- Emergency Grants: grants available to undergraduate members who face sudden financial emergencies
Our chapters also have supported the Kappa Kappa Gamma Foundation with financial gifts and Rose McGill magazine subscription sales to help fund scholarships, confidential aid, education and training, and support of our two museums.

Second, we support Reading Is Fundamental (RIF), our official philanthropic partner. At the Beta Mu chapter of Kappa Kappa Gamma, we host Halloween House every October, where we create a fun family friendly environment while raising money and books for RIF. During Halloween House, all of the girls in our chapter get decked out in fun costumes and decorate our entire house with different halloween themed rooms. By inviting youngsters to come trick-or-treat at our house, as well as participate in fun halloween themed activities, this event is an excellent way to get our entire community involved in our philanthropy!
Additionally, we devote time throughout the school year to visiting local elementary schools. During this time, we read to the students as well as assist with various events and projects at the schools.

Third, we participate in local charity events which support the greater good of our community. This past spring, we held Kappa Italia, and donated over $4,000 to a charity of our choice, the Chris Burtis fund, as well as the Kappa Foundation. For this event, we converted our house into a late night pizzeria, where we cooked and served pizza, breadsticks, and cookies.
This fall, we will once again host Kappa Korral at the Kappa House on Wednesday, November 4th from 5-8:30 pm.
