Delta Delta at McGill University
Philanthropy
Kappas are women with talents who give freely of their time to philanthropic projects. Our commitment to philanthropy is embodied in what we refer to as "Philanthropy 1-2-3". First, we support our sisters; second, we participate in local service projects; third, we serve the communities we live in.
Philanthropy 1 - Our Sisters
All of our 136 chapters across North America support the Kappa Kappa Gamma Foundation with financial contributions, as well as the Rose McGill magazine subscription sales to help fund scholarships, confidential aid, education and training.
Philanthropy 2- The Community
Our chapter has supported Reading is Fundamental (RIF), our national philanthropic partner, on a local level through the donation of thousands of books and volunteer hours. Once a year we hold our "Spaghetti for Spelling" philanthropy dinner where members of the Greek community, friends and family gather to support this great cause.
Philanthropy 3 - Serving our communities
Our chapter also supports both the Quebec and Canadian Cancer Societies. Our "Kappa Kuizine" is a popular annual campus event where you can grab an amazing buffet-style meal, donate to breast cancer research and meet the women of Kappa Kappa Gamma and members of the larger Greek community. Furthermore, as very involved members of McGill's Greek community, the women of Kappa reciprocate in kind by participating in philanthropic events held by their fellow Greeks
