Philanthropy
Giving back is as easy as 1-2-3
1) Our Family
The Kappa Kappa Gamma Foundation supports all members of Kappa Kappa
Gamma through four main program areas:
1) Scholarships. The Foundation awards annual scholarships to qualified Kappas to help cover the rising costs of higher education.
2) Rose McGill Fund. The Rose McGill Fund, established in 1922, has many programs that give confidential aid to deserving Kappas of all ages who suddenly and unexpectedly find themselves in financial need due to misfortune or illness.
3) Education & Leadership Programming. The Foundation supports the development and use of educational programs that benefit our membership.
4) Museums. The Foundation supports the operation of The Heritage Museum in Columbus, Ohio, and The Stewart House Museum in Monmouth, Illinois. Kappa is the only Greek organization to own two historical museums.
2) Local Projects
Our Chapter holds an annual Scholastic Bookfair in Spring with proceeds benefitting local elementary schools. In the Spring of 2008 we were able to raise nearly $4,000 dollars to donate to a local school who’s library had recently burned down.
In order to be more involved in the community, sisters tutor elementary school students in an after school program twice a week and visit the a local preschool each Friday to read to the students.

3) The Greater Good
Our chapter is proud to support Kappa’s national philanthropy Reading is Fundamental. Reading Is Fundamental, Inc. (RIF) works to build a literate nation by helping young people discover the joy of reading. RIF‘s highest priority is to serve the nation‘s under-served children and families through the development and delivery of literacy programs and campaigns that motivate youth to read regularly.
This Fall we held our first campus-wide competition, Kappa Gives You Wings! Over 30 partipants competed in our Hot Wing Eating Contest located on the Rock!
Additional Efforts
Our sisters participate in Relay for Life benefitting the American Cancer Society as well as numerous fraternity philanthropy events such as Sigma Alpha Epsilon’s Paddy Murphy Week, Sigma Chi’s Derby Days, Beta Theta Pi’s Beta Blast and Lambda Chi’s Watermelon Bust.
