Welcome back! We are looking forward to an exciting and busy semester.
Our COB recruitment starts this week! You are welcome to join us at any of the following events to meet the sisters and learn a bit about Kappa.
Monday Aug 30, 8pm: Ice Cream Social/Meet the Sisters/Learn About Kappa --this event will take place in the Kappa Kappa Gamma Suite in the Panhellenic Building
Tuesday August 31 12-3: Lunch at the Rat
Wednesday September 1, 6pm: Sand Volleyball Game & BBQ --this event will take place outside the Bruester House on campus
Thursday September 2: Florida A&M Game --we will meet in the suite, then ride the buses and cheer on our Canes together!
Monday September 6, 2pm: Labor Day BBQ at the Beach/Pool --we will meet in suite at 1:30, then carpool over to the event location
Tuesday September 7: Lunch at the Rat
Wednesday September 8, 9:20 pm: Preference Night by Invitation Only --this event will take place in the Kappa Suite

The sisters celebrated the end of a successful semester with their Sapphire Ball at the Dadeland Marriott. It was a busy semester with all the participation in school events, fraternity philanthropies, and mixers, and everyone definitely earned this chance to let loose and enjoy the time with their sisters. |

The sisters of KKG participated in Relay for Life 2010. The theme was England and the activities included Beatles Rockband and a game to try to make the sisters dressed as Royal Guards laugh. The ladies raised over $7,500 and won several awards including 1st place overall on campus for funds raised, 1st place for Greek organizations, 1st place for spirit, and 2nd place for best decorated tent. Keep up the hard work, girls! |

KKG participated in Greek Week 2010. The week brings together all the Greek organizations with activities including a blood drive, Organized Cheer competition, and all the money raised went towards United Cerebral Palsy of South Florida. |

The sisters had the Paddle Ceremony on March . The Bigs dressed in togas and were led to the Labyrinth, where the paddles were waiting to be revealed. All the sisters' creative sides really showed!

To wrap up the semester, the sisters of the Delta Kappa Chapter danced the night away at UVA Restaurant in Coral Gables on Sunday, December 6th at our annual Semi-Formal! The sisters and our dates enjoyed a night of relaxation and dancing, which was a great study break before finals started!

To kick-off philanthropy this semester, the sisters of KKG hosted their first ever volleyball tournament on Saturday, October 11th. The event, held on the sand volleyball courts on campus, was a huge success! All proceeds from the event went to Camillus House, a local non-profit that serves the homeless. Camillus House provides food, shelter, rehab, and health care to those in need. We would like to thank all of the organizations that participated and congratulate Beta and Delta Gamma, the winners for the men and women respectively. Winners received a donation to their philanthropies. Thanks again to all who participated!

The Ladies of Kappa Kappa Gamma ended the semester in style at the Sapphire Ball, held at the Westin Colonnade Hotel in Coral Gables. Sisters and their dates celebrated the end of another wonderful semester with a delicious meal and a whole lot of dancing! The night ended with silly awards and a bittersweet farewell to our seniors, who we will miss very much! Formal also closed senior week, during which we recognized the accomplishments of our seniors and said many tearful goodbyes. We wish them the best of luck after they graduate next week!

From Monday, March 23rd until Wednesday, March 25th, the Ladies of the Delta Kappa Chapter competed as the reigning champions of Beta Theta Pi's Beta Blast Philanthropy Competition benefitting the Autism Society of America. Our girls worked hard during those three days socializing with the brothers of Beta, collecting pins from brothers around campus, wearing Beta gear while signing in, playing basketball, singing in a serenade competition and one sister even participated in a dating game. All of our hard work paid off when we were announced as the 1st place winners again on Wednesday night!! Congrats to all of the sisters and thank you to our amazing co-chairs and coaches!! The Delta Kappas are on a roll!!

The Ladies of the Delta Kappa Chapter spent March 1st - 7th competing in the 2009 Greek Week Competition with 5 other sororities and 10 fraternities. The Pirate themed week consisted of Greek Extravaganza (a NPHC Step Competition), United Cerebal Palsy Chapter Presentations, Panhellenic Badge Day, Blood Drive, Sex Signals: An Improv Comedy Show, Opening Ceremonies and Organized Cheer, Greek Week Shirt Day, California Pizza Kitchen Fundraising Day, Davy Jones' Locker, Setting Sail and Silent Auction, Greek God and Goddess, Olympic Day, and Closing Ceremonies. After a hard week of showing the UM Greek Community all that we could do, the Ladies of KKG brought home the Sorority Spirit Award!! This award is voted on by each of the participating sororities as a way to recognize the organization that put the most into the week! Thanks to all of the girls who put so much into this year's festivities!
