Philanthropy 1-2-3 
As individuals with time, talents and treasures, Kappas first support our sisters; second, we participate in local service projects; and third, we serve the greater good.
1-Sisters supporting sisters
The Kappa Kappa Gamma Foundation has four program areas which benefit all of our members. The Foundation awards annual scholarships to derserving Kappas to help offset the cost of undergraduate and graduate education. The Rose McGill Fund, established in 1922, has many programs that give confidential aid to derserving Kappas of all ages who suddenly and unexpectedly find themselves in financial need due to misfortune or illness. The Foundation also supports the development and use of educational programs that benefit our membership such as the Kappa Trainer program and Leadership Academy. Finally, The Foundation supports the operation of The Hertiage Museum in Columbus, Ohio and The Stewart House Museum in Monmouth, Illinois.

2- Serving the local community

The local philanthropy of Epsilon Gamma is Tar Heel Trot, a 5K race, benefiting Friends for an Earlier Breast Cancer Test. This organization is a breast cancer research foundation whose sole purpose is to find an innovative, biological marker for earlier pre-tumor detection. Through our 5K, Epsilon Gamma has raised funds and promoted awareness of the severity of breast cancer in the Carolina community.
Additionaly, our chapter women are involved in the following philanthropies:
- Relay for Life
- Rotoract
- Millennium Village Project
- Kidzu Children’s Museum,
- Historic Stagville,
- V Foundation,
- South Orange Rescue Squad,
- UNC Hospitals and more
They also participate in philanthropic activities sponsored by other Greeks and organizations on campus.
3-Serving for the greater good
Reading Is Fundamental (RIF), our official philanthropic partner, has been supported through the donation of thousands of books and volunteer hours to Boys and Girls Clubs, elementary schools and hospitals. To learn more about RIF, please visit their website at www.rif.org/
