Epsilon Omicron chapter at UC Davis
Philanthropy 1-2-3
As individuals with time, talents and treasures, Kappas first support our sisters; second, we participate in local service projects; and third, we serve the greater good.
Our chapter women support elementary schools, Relay for Life, Big Brothers/Big Sisters and Habitat for Humanity to name a few. Chapter fundraising events support causes such as the American Cancer Society, breast cancer/Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure, tsunami relief, and multiple sclerosis research.
Reading Is Fundamental (RIF), our official philanthropic partner, has been supported through the donation of thousands of books and volunteer hours to Boys and Girls Clubs, elementary schools and hospitals.
Our chapters also have supported the Kappa Kappa Gamma Foundation with financial gifts and Rose McGill magazine subscription sales to help fund scholarships, confidential aid, education and training, and support of our two museums.
At Davis, we host several fundraisers throughout the academic year to support these organizations. Last year, our two biggest ones were Kappa Kickball in the Fall and Kappa Klassic in the Spring. Kappa Kickball is a large kickball tournament held on the Russell Boulevard fields across the street from the Davis Kappa house. Kappa Klassic, a nine hole golf tournament, is a fairly new tradition that we have enjoyed the past few years. Participants from the University of California, Davis community as well as students, family and friends participated and contributed to raise over $5,000.
