Eta Theta at Harvard University
An Update From Our Philanthropy Chair
We are very excited for the new semester and for all of the philanthropy events we have planned for this spring. As the newly elected philanthropy chairs, we hope to give our chapter the opportunity to make a positive impact on the community through events with our national philanthropy, within the Boston community, and within Harvard’s community as well.
Our National Philanthropy is Reading is Fundamental, and we are committed to giving you all service opportunities this semester that will deal with this cause. Starting after spring break, we will begin volunteering weekly at a local elementary school, specifically reading to the students and helping teachers. Each member in our chapter will have an opportunity to work at the school at least once a month, and we hope that all of you all take advantage of this opportunity! We also delivered the children’s books we collected and activity packs we created during rush to the Boston Children’s Hospital and they were so excited to receive our donation.
Other events we are planning this semester include a social service event with another group on campus, Relay for Life with members from the other Kappa chapters in the Boston area, fundraising for our five sisters running the Boston Marathon in April, and a blood drive with the two other sororities on campus in the beginning of May.
We are definitely not limited to these events, so if you have an idea or a cause you would like to see our chapter support, please let us know! We can’t wait to begin having these events!
