On September 30, 2001, a local sorority at John Carroll University, Kappa Delta Gamma (founded 1998) was a successful match with national fraternity Kappa Kappa Gamma. Eta Zeta was colonized as the 129th chapter of Kappa Kappa Gamma on October 21, 2001, and was officially installed on November 17, 2001 with 27 charter members.
Eta Zeta as a chapter works hard to maintain our reputation of high academic excellence at John Carroll. From the time that Eta Zeta was established at JCU our average GPA has consistently been above the all campus, all female, and all Greek GPA. During the Fall 2007 semester our chapter had the highest GPA (3.33) of all sororities on campus, as we have for several previous semesters.
On October 6, 2007, Eta Zeta held our first annual Dance Marathon with all proceeds benefiting the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation. We hold many other philanthropy events throughout the year, and continue to support our national philanthropy, Reading is Fundamental, and our local philanthropy, Kappa Kidney Kamp.
On Feburary 20, 2010, Eta Zeta held our first annual Kappasta Dinner with all proceeds benefiting our national philanthrophy, Reading is Fundamental.
