*2008 John Carroll University

Greek Week Philanthropy Award Winner*

The John Carroll Kappas are active in supporting their surrounding community.  Service is a very important aspect of sorority life.  There is at least one service project planned each month that sisters take part in. Kappa's national Philanthropy RIF (Reading is Fundamental) is a focus for the sisters.  They donate books to RIF schools, as well as making monetary contributions.  Eta Zeta's local philanthropy is Kappa Kidney Kamp.  This camp is held in the summer for children with kidney ailments.  The camp is medically staffed in order to give children a "normal" camp experience.  Kappas are also involved in several other service projects.  Some of the agencies that benefit from Kappa service are The Cleveland Food Bank, The Cleveland Ronald McDonald House, The Boys and Girls Clubs of Cleveland, The Veterans Hospital, The Souls 4 Soles Campaign and several others.
