Gamma Iota at your Washington University
Campus Activities

Gamma Iota is a proud participant of both Greek and Non-Greek Campus Activities.
Kappa has been a strong presence on Washington University's campus because of its dedication to philanthropy and community.
Annually, Gamma Iota participates in Dance Marathon, a benefit for the Children's Miracle Network of Greater Saint Louis, specifically benefitting the St. Louis Children's Hospital and the Cardinal Glennon Children's Medical Center. The twelve-hour dance-a-thon is a tradition that Kappa is proud to commit to and participate in.

Another twelve-hour event that Gamma Iota participates in is the Relay For Life. The American Cancer Society sponsored event is an extremely important philanthropy to our chapter. We are proud to have several sisters as members of the steering committee for Relay. The event is symbolic in its efforts to fight cancer and the continual walking around the track is a representation of that constant battle and our support of survivors and those who have passed.

Thurtene Carnival is the oldest and largest student-run carnival in the United States. Kappa Kappa Gamma pairs with Kappa Sigma to build a facade that holds a play that runs twelve times throughout the two day carnival. Kappa Sigma and Kappa Kappa Gamma won the award for Best Production in 2008 in their "Computer" themed facade.

Gamma Iota also has a strong presence in Intramural Sports. Kappa has competed in flag football, soccer, tennis, basketball, volleyball and many more in the past few years. Most recently, in 2008 Kappa was champion of the Sorority Point League.
