Zeta Beta at Lafayette College
Philanthropy 1-2-3
As individuals with time, talents and treasures, Kappas first support our sisters; second, we participate in local service projects; and third, we serve the greater good.
Our chapter women support elementary schools, Relay for Life, Big Brothers/Big Sisters and Habitat for Humanity to name a few. Chapter fundraising events support causes such as the American Cancer Society, breast cancer/Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure, tsunami relief, and multiple sclerosis research.
Reading Is Fundamental (RIF), our official philanthropic partner, has been supported through the donation of thousands of books and volunteer hours to Boys and Girls Clubs, elementary schools and hospitals. Our chapter works with first graders at Paxinosa Elementary School, twice a week. We also help out with Dr. Seuss Day at Paxinosa in the Spring.
In the past year, our chapter has collected can tabs for the Ronald McDonald House, sold Kappa Kisses for a local charity, held a clothing sale and a jean sale, and have partnered with two Fraternities on campus; "Oktoberfest" with Zete and a car wash with KDR. We also donated to the Gay?Fine By Me campaign and the ALF body image speaker.
Our chapters also have supported the Kappa Kappa Gamma Foundation with financial gifts and Rose McGill magazine subscription sales to help fund scholarships, confidential aid, education and training, and support of our two museums.
At the end of the year, our Chapter accumulated 365 hours of service.
