Kappa’s philanthropy program is divided into three main parts. First, our chapter supports the Kappa Kappa Gamma Foundation to help our sisters in need. Kappa believes that no deserving, qualified Kappa should have to interrupt her education. In the 2008-2009 school year, the Kappa Kappa Gamma Foundation awarded nearly $500,000 in scholarships. The Rose McGill Agency provides confidential aid to deserving Kappas of all ages who find themselves in financial need due to misfortune or illness. In order to raise funds, many chapters and alumnae associations sell magazine subscriptions. Proceeds from the Foundation also go to educational and leadership programs for our members. We feel that every Kappa should have an opportunity to develop as a person and as part of a group. Kappa provides Kappa trainer visits to chapters as well as Leadership Academy, a four day team building and enriching experience.

The second part of the Kappa philanthropy program is to support local projects, including

In 2009, Kappa held its first annual Reading is Key, a philanthropy event designed to show children the joy of reading and learning. Kappas from UCI, with the help of members of other Greek organizations, gathered at the Boys and Girls Club of Santa Ana for a fun-filled day of reading, arts and crafts, games, and snacks.
